How to See God Do the Impossible in Your Life

I am the wrong person to talk to if your goal is to prove that God is not real or that He cannot perform miracles. I have seen God do incredible things in me and through me. Furthermore, I have met others who have told me incredible stories of God doing similar things for them.

If this is the case, that we have all of these accounts of God doing impossible works in history and today, then we should open our minds and hearts to the fact that God can do the impossible. We should not listen to the many voices that denounce God’s abilities, just like we would not take fishing advice from a fisherman who does not catch fish. Many others are catching a lot of fish in our day regarding God doing the miraculous. Let’s not take spiritual advice from those who are not experiencing these things.

In addition to the many persons who have seen God do the impossible throughout the history of humanity, I have had too many experiences to ignore that God is real, He loves us, and He is working with and through us. This is good news, and I have been very fortunate to experience it.

What makes it truly good is how basic and standard I am regarding the rest of humanity. This means that God can do any of the following things for anyone. I am not holier or better than anyone else. If God can do the impossible for me, then everyone has hope that He can do the same for them.

To give a few examples, I would like to briefly share moments when I have seen God do incredible things. I have shared these in various podcasts and blog posts throughout this ministry, so I will only go into some detail here.

-Between the ages of 15 and 21, I lived a hedonistic lifestyle imitating what I saw on MTV and the 70s rock stars I idolized. After a few years of battling my addictions, the Lord helped me overcome them in one day. You can read more about that here.

-At 17, I was in a severe car accident that nearly took my life and should have left me with life-altering injuries. You can read more about it here.

-In college, after my girlfriend broke up with me, I prayed a special prayer to see if I should wait for her to return to me or move on. God miraculously answered my prayer to tell me to wait. You can read more about this story here.

-On a trip through Europe, I experienced God’s supernatural care for us when he amazingly guided me through the streets of Athens to meet up with a group of friends. You can read that story here.

-Our God is interactive and I have witnessed Him bring healing and guidance to others I have worked with in the Zenith mentorship program. If you are interested in learning more about how we can assist you in this, visit here.

There is a lot more to this life than we realize, and living in a deep relationship with God will open our eyes more to this reality and let God do the impossible in our lives. Besides signing up for our mentorship program, if you want to see God do the impossible in your life, here are a few tips you can implement.

There are many more items we can add to this list, but the ones I have here are surefire ways to allow God to participate more in your life and do the impossible.

How to let God do the impossible in your life:

Surrender

The first step is to surrender to God completely. This means letting go of what you want regarding your life, family, friends, finances, employment, and living situation. Essentially it means putting God first and staying open to what He wants, even if it does not fit in with your plans. For more on how you can surrender your life to God, visit here.

Hope when facing difficulty

Often your first response to difficulty can be despair or believing that you will not overcome it. Instead of this response, we need to recognize the truth that we have everything we need in God. This means that even when we have difficulties, we can have hope because we understand that God will lead us to good whether we get what we want or not.

Dream with God

There is a temptation to have the mentality in which we think that the world is an oyster for us to take and that we can have anything we want. While this has good intentions in motivating people to work harder, we need to remember that just because we can, does not mean we should do something.

Bring your dreams and desires to God to see if these are truly what is best for you or if you should move on to something else. I did this in the story above, where I prayed about the girl I loved. In this instance, I was able to go after what I wanted. However, I have experienced beautiful moments in being led by God to pursue things other than what I wanted as well.

Dreaming with God will help you stay grounded and keep Him in your life plans. By letting God participate in your life, you will see Him do amazing things.

Expect the Impossible

It is important to keep your mind open to the amazing things God can do. In Matthew 19:26 it says, “For God all things are possible”. This does not mean that all things, especially the things that we want, are going to happen. It simply means that they are possible.

We need to have an “it’s possible mentality” with God. Pray like you believe God can do anything. Then, expect Him to hear your prayer. Either way He will move mountains by giving you what you want or by not giving you what you are asking for. In fact, the latter might even be more of a miracle.

Ask God to Do the Impossible

Coupled with the last point, we need to ask God in order to give Him permission to do great things. Prayer also can activate our faith and manifest to the Lord what we think He can do. In the Gospels, Jesus always made a point to affirm those who had the faith to come up and ask Him for seemingly impossible things.
